Detent Mechanism

A Detent Mechanism is a set of parts that include housing, spring, roller, and follower that are assembled to reciprocate in and out of the housing. The spring rate of the spring is precisely controlled in the production process to achieve the intended detent retention force. The roller, the ball in this case typically has a low coefficient of friction and very high mechanical hardness to enable smooth functioning while ensuring prolonged service life.
